About Us

Founded by Dr. Ashlyne Mullen and Dr. Matthew Berler, Brooklyn Heights Psychology is a collaborative assessment practice serving children, adolescents, and adults. As clinical and school psychologists with over a decade of experience working together in therapy and assessment, we have joined to build a comprehensive testing center rooted in both developmental expertise and real-world application.

Trained in combined clinical and school psychology programs, we bring a unique lens to psychological assessment—one that bridges emotional understanding with practical supports in academic, occupational, and everyday settings. Our integrative approach includes close collaboration with local schools and professionals to ensure that each evaluation leads to meaningful, personalized recommendations.

In addition to our work with school-age children, we provide comprehensive evaluations across the lifespan. For adolescents and emerging adults—including college and graduate students—we offer assessments that address attention, executive functioning, learning differences, and emotional well-being, helping to clarify challenges that may impact academic performance, life transitions, or independence. For adults, our evaluations often focus on understanding attention, mood, or learning-related concerns in the context of work and daily life. We also provide assessments for older adults, with a specialized focus on memory, cognitive functioning, and early detection of age-related changes, helping individuals and families gain clarity and plan for next steps with confidence.

At Brooklyn Heights Psychology, we aim to translate insight into action—helping individuals and families gain clarity, direction, and provide tailored interventions for lasting support.
